Rubbabu - An Interesting Toy Review

I think before I start rambling like usually you should hear a little bit from the company themselves and maybe you will see why I am thrilled why a company like this exists.

"Rubbabu's handmade natural foam toys in simple shapes and bright colors are loved by kids and parents alike.

Soft and safe for even the youngest children, tactile and bendable, they offer endless play value and learning.

Rubbabu toys encourage imaginative play. They are strong and durable, one of those toys that become a child's favorite companion for many years."

Short and sweet, but a lot of meaning. They sent me two different toys, an Alphabet Magnet Set and Tugboat. Both are so very soft, bright and squishy. But very durable.

When we received the toys, my oldest like always was thrilled that we had gotten another package in the mail. We tore into it like normal examining the toys with awe… I let him pick the one we would donate, which initiated a struggle. I do not think that five years have the brain build for decision making yet. We eventually decided on the tugboat. After setting that aside we got out the Alphabet Magnet Setset and start laying them out to say our ABC's. Trying to spell words without enough vowels. While he was laying them out on the ground I was reading over the packaging… Not for children under three?! Why would these NOT be suitable for children under three?! This is no possible pieces to break off, and there are no sharp edges. WHAT?! Magnetic pieces?! AWESOME! I felt like an idiot. I had to pry them from D's cold dead fingers to get them to the fridge. And Oh My Gosh! They are so much better than the standard fridge magnets. Bigger, much easier to read and soft!

The downside? They take up A LOT of room on the fridge. We have found a little bucket for them, and they have to come down when we are done or they get knocked off and stepped on. They are not terribly hard to clean but I try to keep what I have to actually do to a minimal.

The tugboat is pretty cool too. Soft, bright colored and squishy. It comes in this amazing neon green color that I seem to have an attraction to lately. I think it is my mind aching for spring to come. I am hoping the child that comes across it at Vina Moses will enjoy and appreciate it as much as we did!
All in all I think that Rubbabu is an amazing company with amazing toys. There toys are made from natural rubber without cutting down trees. Being from western Oregon I am a big appreciator of that. It's one of the many things I know is necessary as it is a huge industry, but why use it when you do not absolutely have to!?

SQUISHY TOYS ARE AWESOME!

Neglected.

Oh my have I neglected my blog. So many reviews to write, so little time to write them in. We are officially moved out. It took us about a week. The amount of SHIT we accumulated while we where living in a bigger place took hold of our balls and gave us a swift kick in them. Now with little room and a lot of stuff, it is going to take us a while to get it sorted out.

My one complaint about our new place - very little kitchen storage! I am talking one cupbaord for dishes, one cupboard for food, an under the stove storage for pots and pans and a few drawers That DO NOT fit my damned silverware caddy in them! Next on my purchase list - some nice shelves for storage. I love cooking. I love eating. There is NO room to do either right now and it is driving me literally insane!

Alright... Well here I go... Off to try a local church. If I hate it I will travel to the nearest Dox church.

Tasty & Healthy Granola Gourmet Energy Bars - Review & Giveaway!

Last week Granola Gourmet sent us some… interesting… energy bars. The concept behind them is wonderful. I have a handful of friends who are gluten free and will only eat 100% natural. They are always complaining about the lack of gluten free food on the shelves and that it always tastes awful.
Little D was really excited. He thought I had gotten candy bars in the mail. What a cool treat for any kid. He dived into them, only to spit the Ultimate Fudge Brownie out, exclaiming "It tastes like my baby brothers POOP!".
Lol
Ok… So Hubby had a much different reaction. He thought they were a tasty treat and was a little bummed out that I made him share them with my little sissies. They loved the Ultimate Berry and Ultimate Cran-Orange. They were not too pleased with the Mocha Fudge.
I have been looking on the shelves of our local grocery stores for these, per Hubbies request and cannot find them. He is hoping that soon our local Co-op will start carrying them as they are much healthier and leave a better whole body feeling than the infamous "Power Bar".
Here is what the company has to say:
"Founded by Jeff Cohen (a diabetic) and his family. Granola Gourmet Energy Bars are made with 100% natural and wholesome ingredients.  Frustrated by a lack of snacks that did not cause a blood sugar spike*, but that also tasted good Granola Gourmet was born. Granola Gourmet uses ingredients that are low or very low on the Glycemic Index*, because of this Granola Gourmet Energy Bars convert to sugar more slowly.
From humble beginnings in the family kitchen the bars were made in small batches and became a family tradition.  Soon his teenagers began getting requests for new flavors from their friends.  Hollywood Television Shows and Movies began buying the bars for the cast and crew. Granola Gourmet became a local family business success.
Our founder, as a Type 2 diabetic, wanted to create a product that is healthy, tasty and filling that could meet the needs of diabetics, as well as athletes and health conscious consumers. Granola Gourmet™ Energy Bars contain 10-13g Whole Grains and 391-590mg Omega-3's. For those with other dietary requirements, these Energy Bars are free of wheat and dairy, low sodium(15- 35mg), and are kosher, vegetarian & vegan and non gmo.  Handmade in California.
Finally, a substantial energy bar that is tasty, chewy and crunchy and portion controlled.  Satisfying your hunger and fulfilling your sweet tooth. They are an energy bar and don't have the high sugar, fat and sodium content of some of the popular protein bars."

Huh… They have a store finder on the website that said every Safeway within 15 miles carries them. I will go check again. Our local Safeway does not have the best selection. I had to kick and scream to get them to start carrying the twins formula *They are on NEOSURE for prematurity, it has a higher calorie count and some extra vitamins.*
Any who…. Granola Gourmet has offered one of my lucky readers a sample pack of their own!

My Hands Hurt :-(

My hands hurt today. I have found that extreme cold and extreme heat both have a HUGE negative impact on my arthritis.

AND IT SUCKS!

Here in Oregon we are going through a cold spell. Being the dumbasses that we are, we are trying to conserve a little energy.

Yeah… So let's NOT set our BROKEN thermostat above 70 degrees and see who's fingers turn blue first!

Mine are definitely there.

Little D is wearing clothes indoor's for the first time since god knows when. *He has been an undie boy since we stopped letting him run around naked.*

I have the babies wearing so much clothing that they are going to have heat strokes.

And hubby… Dear hubby… Is sleeping. Naked. Half un-covered. Comfortable as sin.

And I have to pack! What kind of bullshit is this.

Who in their right mind would do this to themselves.

I am wishing really hard for coupons to the gas company.

Wish…

Wish…

Wish…

Ok…

So it is not going to happen.

Any ideas on how to make enough money to heat the god damned house?!

Oh snap! I could start a fire! In my wood stove respectivly.

Now… To find something to burn!

LMFAO! The table! The dressers! The couch!

Ok. So I turned the heat up just a little. We are not burning furniture.
